Whilst both Contreras father and son passed away some years ago, the Contreras workshop continues delivering powerful guitars redolent of  the Spanish guitar tradition. Today Jose Antonio Lagunar Contreras master luthier and artisan keeps alive the heritage of Manuel Contreras II with the permission and support of Contreras family. The materials used are exquisite, featuring well-aged Madagascar rosewood and top quality spruce or Cedar for the top.

A beautiful and high quality Ebony for fingerboard!  Like the concert models the neck is reinforced with an ebony strip instead of truss rod. More compact and lighter it conducts the vibration all across the instrument and allows theguitar to fully vibrate from the head to bottom of the body.  You really feel: The guitar vibrates against your body.  The sound is rich, clear and extremely versatile.

It is constructed with all-solid woods that the maker has carefully selected for their quality and tonal properties. The Model 5 model comes with back and sides made with Indian rosewood, ebony fingerboard, and a primer quality spruce or cedar top. It has a lacquer finish and is fitted with Gotoh deluxe machine tuners. It delivers liquid clear and rounded and polished singing trebles. These are balanced nicely against profound but well-defined basses. The separation, intonation, and evenness from note to note are excellent. The guitar shows clarity all the way up the fretboard and rings out well every register It is set up well, and is comfortable to play.
