Description:

2005 Dieter Hopf #3998/97

The Hopf name has been synonymous with Lutherie since. Since then, the families building history can be followed through to modern timesy. The now 340-year-old family tradition and the more than 40-year experience alone by Dieter Hopf gives an idea of what technique and skill represented in the Hopf guitars.

Dieter Hopf was born in Zwota / Vogtland in 1936, completed a 2-year training as a violin maker in Mittenwald and finally specialized in guitar making. Since 1968 he works as a master bulder in Taunusstein. A well-known German region specialising in instrument making

Sound and playability are excellent. The guitar has the typical Hopf sound - powerful, beguiling and room-filling.

The condition of the guitar is very good. It is perfectly set-up and very easy to play.

The guitar comes with a quality Archtop case!

Dieter Hopf Progresso Cedar – Germany

The Progresso model is a Cedar double-top based on the Portentosa design specially made for those who cannot quite stretch to the Evolution or the Grande Furioso Portentosa. As always in these cases, the classical guitars made always offer a fantastic value for money: same sound quality, same know-how, same attention to details.

Dieter Hopf is a master luthier who is aiming at producing the best concert classical guitar for demanding performer but as well is one of the rare who has succeeded to create concert classical guitars for people who cannot afford to go bankrupt when buying a classical guitar.

Condition Report:

The Progresso double top is clearly what we would call a semi-concert classical guitar which offers the features of a concert classical guitar without the price tag.

The first impression when playing this classical guitar is the pleasure and the feeling of playing a top instrument that fill the room, it offers responsiveness with singing trebles. The balance is great with easy playability.
